About the Female Athlete Conference
Founded in 2013 by Kate Ackerman, MD, MPH, FACSM, the Female Athlete Conference was the first academic and medical conference dedicated to the female athlete. The Female Athlete Conference, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) working to close the disparity in research and treatment of female athletes, promoting understanding of their unique and understudied physiology and lived experience alongside clinical best practices and interdisciplinary action.
