Female Athlete Conference

Donations fund research, collaboration, future conferences, and more!

Donations like yours are essential to help the Female Athlete Conference achieve its mission to close the disparity in research and treatment of female athletes by promoting an understanding of female athletes' unique and understudied physiology and lived experience.

The Female Athlete Conference, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), and all proceeds directly fund female athlete health and performance-related research. Proceeds support research in the Wu Tsai Female Athlete Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and fund grants to external collaborators, scholarships for conference attendees, and the development of future educational programs.

Current research priorities include low energy availability and relative energy deficiency in sport (REDs), considerations for menopausal and postpartum athletes, bone stress injury recovery and treatment, the role of body composition in menstrual function in female athletes, and the bio-psycho-social factors that affect female athlete health and resilience.

Recent publications by conference leaders and collaborators have covered a breadth of topics, including foundational REDs updates, nutritional impacts on bone health, gold-standard approaches to assessing the impacts of menstrual cycle phases on performance, and psychological considerations for athletes returning to sport post-injury.

We accept donations via Donor Box and Venmo. Thank you for the support!
